First Day Letter from the MTC
Emily sent a letter her first day or two in the MTC. It was a quick note and here is a summary:
The two host Elders who greeted her at the MTC took her to a nearby building where a host sister got her a room key and showed her where her room was. Emily is staying on the 4th floor of her building--no elevator so she is getting good at stairs. She got her name tag, ID card, and her books the first day then she went to language class.
Her companion is Cectpa Coulson. She's from Washington State and just graduated from BYU. They are both working hard, but overwhelmed with trying to learn Russian. She said learning Russian is hard! They had a welcome orientation from the MTC presidency and after that she ran into both Sister Gee (Rebecca Gee, friend) and Hermano Ricks (Michael Ricks, cousin)!
The first night when they went to their classroom, there were some elders in the hall going to Romania! She chatted with them for a few minutes in Romanian. She said that was a highlight! She keeps reminding herself she doesn't need to learn Russian in a day or two. They were going to teach an investigator in Russian on Friday night.
There are 10 in her district. Her companion and two other sisters and 2 elders are going to Rostov, Russia; 2 other elders are going to Novagibirsk Russia; and Emily and 2 elders are going to Donetsk, Ukraine.
